Always Carry A Bible
Friendly Anarchism was a podcast project which ran from April 2017 to July 2018. It delved into issues surrounding mysticism, radical praxis, theology, empowerment, anti-fascism, and the arts from a leftist Religious Society of Friends perspective. There has been a burgeoning revival of spiritual social justice work based in socialist and radical traditions and the celebration of creative, loving anarchy. Jesus, Lao-tze, and others throughout history have tied egalitarian social organization in with personal connections to divinity, and this faith in humanity’s connection with each other as well as the Divine has driven radical social change throughout history. The project covered current events, Quaker practice, anarchist action, and the exciting plethora of relevant discussions that are happening within anarchist, leftist, Christian, and other mystic philosophies.
“And what of the glowing beyond that is so bright that those who grind the faces of the poor say it is a dream? It is no dream, it is the real, stripped of brain-distortions materialised into thrones and scaffolds, mitres and guns.” – Lucy Parsons
He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God? -Micah 6:8
